Originally native to Turkey, tulips underwent selective breeding in Europe before being brought to Japan in the 19th century.
The tulip garden in Hitachi Seaside Park features a wide variety of tulips to produce a colourful design. Early-flowering varieties and late-flowering varieties are grown together to produce flower beds that change over time – every area of the tulip garden is the product of years of study and experience!
