Narcissus

Narcissus genus Lycoris radiata family

The Narcissus is native to the Mediterranean area and they were improved in England and imported to Japan via China. In 1993, the third year from the park opening, the park started to grow special narcissuses that became acclimatized to survive in sandy gardens. The number of grown narcissuses increased from 100,000 to 1 million, which is the largest in Japan as a city park. This park features pine trees grown near the beach, and the narcissuses blooming under the pine trees look like a gorgeous yellow carpet.
